At the stroke of midnight and amidst chanting of countdown, Auckland welcomed the New Year 2025 with a dazzling fireworks display atop Sky Tower.
The 10-second countdown on the base of the Sky Tower was accompanied by loud chanting by the large crowd-including infants, that had gathered to welcome 2025.
More than 500kg of pyrotechnics were launched from three firing sites of the Sky Tower, positioned above 200 meters above the ground in the short-but powerful five-minute fireworks display.
There was a nearly 8-minute display of laser light and visual animations on to the Auckland’s Harbour Bridge.
Sky Tower fireworks are an iconic part of celebrating the New Year in New Zealand.
