Hamilton City Council’s building is closed atleast until midday (12pm) today after a bomb threat.
According to the HCC, the Council received a bomb threat overnight on the Municipal Building, located at 260 Anglesea Street.
“All other council sites and facilities will remain open,” the council said in an announcement.
At this stage, it’s considered a low-level threat and the Police are investigating.
While the staff are expected to be working from their homes during this closure, for the safety of staff and customers, the Municipal Building will remain closed until midday, or until the Police gives it all clear.
This closure will allow Police to complete a thorough check of the building and advance their investigation.
