Recall alert of FreshLife & Gilmours chopped peanuts, Piper Biscuits

New Zealand Food Safety has issue a recall alert for FreshLife brand Chopped Peanuts, Piper’s brand Milkshake Biscuits in Original and Caramel flavours and Gilmours brand Peanuts Chopped as the products may contain undeclared allergen and/or foreign matter (small metal pieces).

Specific batches recalled

Only specific batches are affected and recall does not affect other brand products.

Affected products are:

  • (a) FreshLife brand Chopped Peanuts (100g); Best before 21 05 2026, & sold in a 100g plastic bag

The affected product is sold at Woolworths, FreshChoice and Supervalue stores throughout New Zealand. Customers are asked to check the date mark on the product.

Customers having this product can email Scalzo Foods Limited with a photo of the product and best before date for a replacement voucher: freshlife@scalzofoods.com.au

(b) Piper’s brand biscuits recalled are:

  • Piper’s brand Milkshake Biscuits Original (120g) with a best before of 15/04/2026
  • Piper’s brand Milkshake Biscuits Caramel (120g) with a best before of 18/04/2026
Gilmours 3kg pack recalled

The products are sold at Reduced to Clear stores nationwide and due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (pistachio).

c) Foodstuffs Own Brands Ltd is recalling specific batches of its Gilmours brand Peanuts Chopped (3kg); Batch marking
NZ039567 (Best Before: 24/04/2026) & NZ040191(Best Before: 05/06/2026). The affected product is sold at Gilmours and Trents Wholesale stores throughout New Zealand.

Customers should return the product to their retailer for a full refund.

New Zealand Food Safety advices that the affected products should not be consumed. There have been no reports of associated injury, however if you have consumed any of this product and have any concerns about your health, seek medical advice.
