With just 16 days left for Hamiltonians to cast their vote, two key events are being organised to make sure residents know who they’re voting for.
This Saturday, 27 September, Hamilton City Council is hosting two key events at Your Neighbourhood in Garden Place: a Mayoral Candidate Q&A panel, and a Candidate Café meet and greet.

The Mayoral Candidate Q&A panel will be held from 11am – 12pm in the Hamilton City Council Reception Lounge. This is a free, ticketed event so people will need to request a ticket to attend.
Led by an independent moderator, the panel gives Mayoral candidates the chance to answer questions about how they would lead the city if elected, and how they would approach key issues affecting the city. This is a valuable opportunity for Hamiltonians to hear directly from their potential Mayor before casting their vote.

If you miss out on a ticket, the Q&A will be live streamed at the Central Library and on the Facebook Page of Hamilton City Council.
The Candidate Café will run from 10am – 1pm and is a chance for members of the public to meet and talk to Council candidates in an informal and friendly environment. Ask about their ideas, priorities, and what they hope to achieve if elected. The Mayoral candidates will not be at the Café during the Q&A.

The Candidate Café will be held in Garden Place if the weather allows. If it’s raining, the Café will be moved to the Central Library.
If you didn’t receive your voting papers in the post, or you forgot to enrol, you’ll be able to cast a special vote at Your Neighbourhood this Saturday. Take action, Hamilton.

While the Mayoral Q&A and Candidate Café are happening, there are plenty of activities to entertain the kids. Enjoy a ferris wheel, rides, face painting, circus performers, Enchanted characters, diggers, and much more. Come along and bring your whaanau for a fun day out.
Please note if the weather is poor, the Mayoral Q&A will go ahead and the Candidate Café will be moved to the Central Library, but the outdoor activities will be cancelled.
