Unveiling of Diljit Dosanjh’s wax figure put-off amidst growing tensions

Indian actor-singer and Punjabi superstar, Diljit Dosanjh has postponed today’s event to unveil his wax statue at Madame Tussauds in the national capital, New Delhi to express solidarity with Indian soldiers.

In the wake of growing India-Pakistan tensions, the actor shared the official statement on social media, and wrote, “Our soldiers are fighting hard to protect the Nation. We stand by our Soldiers. Amidst the tensions rising across the Nation, we have decided to re-schedule the launch of Madame Tussauds WAX Statue. Will post new date soon.”

Dosanjh’s wax statue will be among other eminent Indian personalities at the museum which includes Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Asha Bhonsle, Anil Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonu Nigam and many more.

An official statement from the organisers, Madame Tussauds read, “Considering recent events in the country, we wish to inform you that we have decided to re-schedule the launch of Diljit Dosanjh’s figure at Madame Tussauds Delhi slated for February 28, 2019. We all stand by our nation at this important juncture. We will inform you about the new launch schedule once it is finalized. We regret the inconvenience caused and hope to see you soon.”

The actor met up with the Madame Tussauds wax figure experts in Mumbai for his sitting in order to create his exact likeness.

They took over 200 measurements of the actor and numerous photographs in order to produce his wax figure which will be placed in the music zone of the Madame Tussauds Delhi now at a later date.
