Tenancy Services is expanding its online self-service tools, giving landlords, property managers and tenants faster and easier ways to manage bonds.
From today, 29 June, Bond Hub will allow landlords to initiate bond refunds, update landlord and tenant details, and maintain their contact information online. Tenants will also benefit from greater visibility of their bond records and the ability to choose how they receive communications by email, text message, or post.
Property managers and landlords using property management software (PMS) can expect smoother and faster bond processes. Updates to the Business2Business software integrated with Tenancy Services’ bond system will enable change of landlord and tenant details online and enhanced digital bond refunds.
Kat Watson, Head of Tenancy Services says the new features represent a significant milestone for New Zealand’s rental sector.
“Tenancy Services has now enabled a digital-first, automated service that replaces manual data entry and bond processing queues that have been in place for more than 26 years,” says Kat.
“Digital services improve the customer experience with faster processing times and greater visibility of bond information and transaction status. Bond refunds will be quicker with payments confirmed online and processed instantly. There will be no need to print, scan or store paperwork. The result is a faster, smoother end-of-tenancy experience.
“More than 31,000 landlords are currently registered to use the system, reflecting strong uptake of digital bond management,” says Kat.
Key improvements to Bond Hub will enable tenants now to view bond records online for greater transparency and confidence; Respond to bond refunds and tenancy changes digitally; Faster refunds once all parties agree, reducing wait times; secure tenant identification, etc.
